The Environmental Learning Center is located on a 64-acre campus situated within the Indian River Lagoon. We offer environmental education programs, field trips, nature art exhibits, outdoor activities, pontoon tours, water sport rentals and more. ELC’s mission is to educate, inspire, and empower all people to be active stewards of the environment and of their own well-being. “Restoration” is the theme for the 2022 LagoonFest, focusing on how healing the connection to nature can be and how the health of the environment is directly associated with human health and wellness. LagoonFest guests will enjoy music, activities, and canoe rides. In conjunction with this year’s theme, the ELC has restored several on-campus facilities including new roofs, decking, sewage hookup, and the installation of an immersive estuary flooring display in the Discovery Station.
